Chilled Breaks track

Let us hear you!

Hey Simon

I agree with Rob, there isn't anything majorly wrong with the track, it just needs some refining.

It sounds to me like some of the high end hi hats loops/ samples used were low quality (although that could be the actual quality that you uploaded) or lacking in sufficient sheen - this does lend the track an oldskool 90's feel, which is great if that's what you're aiming for, but that's what stood out to me.

Love the fat breaks though, very heavy and big sounding, could fill up a stadium with this sort of track.

Omnisphere loading times

DAW or Software Questions

Hi all

I'm sure one or two of you must have Omnisphere - i bought it around 6 months ago.

When i first installed it, it opened very quickly and ran smoothly. Out of the blue the loading times have massively slowed down - talking 10 seconds just to load the plugin itself, and 5-10 seconds for each preset.

Can anyone help me with a fix for this? Nothing else with my computer has changed!

Thanks!
Nice one Paddy - this is a stomper! Real good progression across the song as well, builds very nicely. I also appreciate your low-passing of the horn samples - gives it a sleek quality

Hi everyone,

This was good fun. Started out more acoustic but, as I migrated towards the electronic, it ended up sounding like a 70s TV theme tune!
Anyway, here it is:

Enjoy :)
Love it! It almost has a Balkan Brass Band feel to it. Or yes maybe a tv theme. Very fun and upbeat to listen to. I see you even did your own artwork too - impressive happy-1

Wavesfactory - Quantum

DAW or Software Questions
Hi @SamuelClouston - thanks for your tips.  I just had to double check on line to be 100% sure and can confirm that Waves and Wavesfactory are 2 separate companies.  I have to say, I love the SSL Compressor as well - and will look into the other's you mentioned.  I also appreciate the tip for guitars as I'm planning to use more guitars and wanted to work out how what effects to use.
In respect to the Wavesfactory, the trackspacer VST has been recommended from multiple people previously in the community, I can't wait to try it - not an aficionado yet, but it looks like a great (and easy) tool to do multi-band compression.
The Quantum VST looks really interesting and I think @Seppa mentioned it in a stream recently (but can't remember) - either way, it looks like a really interesting tool..

Hi

Great! Yes i forgot to say MaxxBass is also great, esepcially for bass guitar.

I had no idea Wavesfactory was a different company either! I just thought it was a subsidiary of Waves! The more you know... trackspacer is great! I have their cassette plugin - i'd say its the the best tascam emulator on the market.

Best of luck and post whatever you make so we can hear it!

Wavesfactory - Quantum

DAW or Software Questions

Haven't used quantum, but I do regularly use their plugins.

Particularly Aphex Exciter, SSL Compressor, C6 Multiband Compressor, KramerTape - they're all killer for mixing/mastering.

I also use th GTR amp stuff, the CLA guitars series and H-delay for guitar based stuff - all really good. I find waves sounds more classic and analogue than their competitors

Hope that helps

Had a lot of fun on this one.
Woah! This is so good. The mix is so chunky and fat, in the best way possible. Really nice balance and fun use of the samples too. I'd play this in a DJ set

Ambient Breakbeat track

Let us hear you!

Really interesting track. Definitely digging the arrangement. Some unexpected touches in there for sure - the folky lead towards the end! Really nice work smiling-1
Thanks Rob! Kind words - and glad you clocked the bagpipe at the end ;)
