Hi all
I have posted about this before and got some good feedback, but I thought I'd ask some more questions.
I do a fair bit of vocal recording with my Rode NT1-A microphone, and the results are pretty good, but I often get a nasal/boxy sound without any EQing. I have been playing around with EQ, Soothe, and other things, but I'm not sure I understand the fundamental technique of making it sound better!

This is a bona fide tuneeee! Proper good. Similar enough to the original track to be noticeably derived, but has it's own flair. Especially love the classic piano sounds.

Original, is in Am and 138bpm, Dm Am C DM progression I believe.
Of course I wanted to do something a bit different, so I've attempted an EDM/Future rave track, taking it down to 128bpm, and slightly changed the chords to DM AM C G DM. I have also changed up the melody to try make it my own.
I'm not sure the original is too much recognisable anymore, so hope I'm not falling outside the scope of the assignment here ...

I hear you Petter - mayeb you needed a bit more finishing time on this but I think it's an admirable effort regardless. Your tunes are always pretty strong so I'm not surprised

Your advice is always welcome, and is very useful - your feedback is very good actually. You're particularly right about the piano being too repetitive - changing it to a once in a while stab with nice big delay or reverb would change it up quite nicely I think. I also agree that the piano itself sounds a bit off - I'm gonna have to go in and fiddle with it.
I actually made this song as a live jam, which you may be able to tell, as it's a bit run of the mill and formulaic.
Good feedback, gonna go back in and change it when I get a chance....
