Thankyou @deltadio for the excellent suggestion...

This topic is for posting and starting discussions on tracks you really dig. This will not only spark interesting discussion but help with directing tutorial content too!

So, use this topic to..... tell us about a track you particularly like, what is it about this track that blows your mind, are there sound-design, arrangement, composition facets etc. that stand out? Is there a how-did-they-do-it question you would like PT to solve?

Please link to a publicly accessible version of the song and in your 'advocacy' you should rise above the mere assertion that you dig that song.

@deltadio's example track is the lil Melodic House banger MEDUZA - Tell It To My Heart (Live Performance Video) ft. Hozier that has spawned many a remix [remix 1] [remix 2] [remix 3]  (and quite a few more).

Let's discuss!

Nice idea!

Here's my submission to the Hall of BANGERS. This has long been a favourite track of mine, and there's many things about it that I'd like to know how to produce.

Firstly is the sort of general squelchy, warm, bubble bath feeling that this track has. I'm not sure what it is but maybe very subtle filtering? Not sure...

Also, on the drums section you have some breaks, not too complicated, but the beats that precede the breaks (0:47-1:31) - they have a really intersting timbre and I was wondering if they are a sample, a drum machine - they just seem to sound so organic and not rigid.

I'd recommend everyone check out Skee Mask's album Compro - it's a masterpiece.

Couple more:

The sound design on this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NOOHZeFLQVE i'd love to know a bit more about how you achieve any of those sounds!

Same with this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4LOy2bL6ifk the initial sounds are insane and would love an insight into the sound design. (bonus points for awesome music video visuals)

ooooo! I hadn't heard that one. I'm clearly a fake fan!

Absolutely gawjus though. I love the mixture of 90s percussion, burial esque pads (but that are even nicer and warmer than Burial), with some of the best mixing/tone in the game. Seriously underrated. You can listen to his tunes in a packed club and on your own in your bedroom or the bath, and they work equally well in both!

I'll chip in with a couple of golden oldies, these stick out for me as a couple of tracks that always kicked a bit harder than the rest on a club system or warehouse

Renegade Soundwave - The Phantom

Dee Patten - Who's the Badman

Woah - I can't believe I've never heard that Renegade Soundwave tune before - done a few deep dives into the history of electronic music but somehow I missed that. Proper sick though. Can hear Jungle, Techno & Electro vibes in there, even some Aphex Twin.

Love that Dee Patten tune too - always been partial to bit of 'ardkore!

Keep em coming everyone!

Just had to get on this one!

If there is one tune that encapsulates the word BANGER, in the quite literal sense I would say my fave tune of all time is it! Quite different to the tunes posted here so far but for me it is one of the few tunes that can quite literally give me shivers and make me want to bounce around the room no matter what mood I am in (and it is my go to whenever I feel down!).

Vengeance - Temptation (Denga & Manus Remix)

It has everything I want in a tune:

A pumping start with a piercingly rich kick, simple bass and great accompanying sounds that glitch and pump and drive their way to....

An amazingly uplifting breakdown, I mean the if that's not hands in the air, tingles, heart just slowly rising to your neck, feel good happiness I have no idea what is! And if that high, a train of spine tingling goodness is not enough, it starts to build, there you are floating above the dance floor when suddenly someone straps a jet back on you..........and what a build it is...filthy bassline starts to signal the impending drop.......bang, mayhem, a chance to ride those jets, I little dark, driving energy, but then you are reminded of that uplift, that place you once were and yet more euphoria, suspended in the clouds, no need to breath, just float there, ready for that filthy driving drop once again, that choppy arpeggiated lead really does it for me and keeps the track wholesome and complete, in the apparent chaos lurks a cohesive tune that sparks pure joy and I love it!

Can you tell how much I love it laughing-2

I think technically I do get most of the techniques and have used a few in my own work. It is a master class in transitions and atmosphere imo and it is just that mix of uplifting euphoria that then gives you that banging drop. I've spent a lot of my clubbing years at massive festivals like global gathering and creamfields and for me this was the era of Trance that did it for me, though I am no purest, anything that takes you on a journey and makes you feel happy is in my collection! This is a solid 100/100 for me, love it!

I am hoping those that have heard the tunes I have produced to date, recognise some of this style in my own, if in some small way!

Hope you all enjoy it, I know it isn't to everyones taste!
