New dancey rave track
Let us hear you!
Hi all
Just wondering if anyone could give me feedback on this track I did recently.
Hi all
Just wondering if anyone could give me feedback on this track I did recently.
Hi Petter
Big fan of this - really well mixed actually. The drums are super well balanced and punchy - that's usually where most people slip up.
I'd say you've ticked all three of the critera you set yourself. The bass is very warm, and subby, but sits really nicely in the mix.
I wiuldn't say there's much wrong with this song at all - and a nice tune to top it off!
Hi guys
What a goldmine of information! Thank you - there's a lot to go through and it all sounds super helpful
Seems like I should avoid setting up a label if it's just my music I want to release, and go for Distrokid...
That bonus tutorial is super useful. Really made me realise that I hadn't really ever known what I was doing before when mixing vocals. Mid side has always baffled me but I finally understand it - and had no idea how useful it was lol. Classic! Thanks again
Hey Neon Critter! I remember listening to some of your tracks a while back and liking them - glad to see you're still making tunes - and getting better from the sound of it. This is super groovy and rhythmic - I'm always a fan of tunes that aren't standard 'four-to-the-floor' and this reminds me of some tunes from the label Hessle Audio - very techno and dub influenced, but with an idiosyncratic tone. Big fan!
OOOooooooO! God yeah. Haven't actually seen the show but I've heard the theme song and it's already a bonafide banger. And as a big fan of synthwave I'm looking forward to giving this a crack. Time to crack out the CS80, Juno 6 and Jupiter 8 emulations!
These are all great points; thanks all. I agree that it may not be the most direct route to stardom, but for me, it's just a good way for me and a few friends to get our music out there - I know some friends of friends who run big spotify playlists, so once they're on there, we could potentially get our music in these big playlists - exposure to much bigger pool of people. That's just my take.
So, from your recommendation Distrokid sounds like a good shout. I'll do some snooping and give some feedback on what I find. AWAL pretty much does this now too. And I always aim to use copyright free samples myself so shouldn't run into too many problems.
Hi All
I was wondering if anyone has previous experience on releasing your own music via your own record label?
I've heard of some websites where you can submit your music, like AWAL, and they'll send it off to Spotify etc - if anyone has had experience with these, was it any good?
I'd like to get some of my music on Spotify, Apple Music, etc
This isn't the most technical tip but I find that if I mix my vocals slightly quieter than seems normal, when I come back to it next time, they sit great - something to do with ear fatigue and balance across a track. If that works do let me know!
I'd definitely be interested to hear Seppa's take... hehe.
