I'm enjoying Rene Wise's stuff, really has a good groove going and one of the most consistent techno guys out there at the moment.

Well.... Trent Reznor as a producer and soundtrack creator/mixer has always been an example of someone at the top of his game. Even now. And you can still hear the styles present in Pretty Little Hate Machine, the first album (Trent is NIN, for those that didn't put it together).
And, I know I'm going to get accused of cheesy... but William Orbit really did some awesome bouncy, discotech fun back in the day... for more than a few major artists.
