New Synthwave Track: Maria, Its 1984

Let us hear you!

Thanks! I've been working with some vintage synths for a while. I think its a great way to get some variety into my music! If anyone else sees this, please send over some links for your stuff, I'd love to hear it :)

I've been considering doing this as my room is apparently the worst possible - a small cube!

@tamlinspeaks - what type and thickness of Rockwool did you go for?
[/quote]

I didn't make them myself, so I couldn't tell you about mine specifically but here's a good article about it, including the correct thickness required: https://thehomerecordings.com/diy-acoustic-panels/.

And yes a cube room's not amazing but some acoustic panels should help!

HI, my first post on the forum. I usually make ravey/breakbeaty/ambient techno, but recently been experimenting with vintage drum machines and hip hop vocals to hopefully make something quite unique:

Learn to use Modes

Member Content Requests

I realised during Lockdown that understanding modes would unlock some magic part of music, and not gonna lie it did. Instant key to making songs sound more 'magical'. Also made me realise that almsot all of my favourite musc is in Dorian

Studio setup and sound treatment

General Producer Chat

Hey -

So I didn't make them myself, but i have a carpenter friend who made me some fantastic acoustic panels, which honestly have completely transformed the sound in my room. I hardly have the ideal room shape but the panels have really helped my mixes go up a gear. Not massively expensive. Just a timber frame (cheap af from local hardware store), rockwool insulation, and some cheap fabric. Jobs a good un.

It doesn't need to be completely covered at all no. A couple behind your desk, a couple on the wall opposite ur desk, a couple on the walls either side, and if youre feeling extreme, one on the ceiling above you. and try and have a carpet/rug
