Stereo field diagram quesstion
General Producer Chat
Hi all - I've got a bit of a random question that I'm hoping someone might be able to answer for me. I've seen a few of these diagrams before and was interested in this one which I've pasted along with the article link below.
It shows a lot of the parts on both sides of the stereo field but not in the centre (i.e. mono) and the article talks about the track being 'super wide' and pushing the sounds wide in the mix.
From looking at the diagram you can see the Pad Atmos is pushed out from the centre/mid and wide out to the sides, which I know you can do with a widener or similar process.
But it also shows the Vocal Synth element being both on the far right and far left of the stereo field with nothing in the centre or even close to to mid.
So my question is; How is this done? I'm guessing it's not a widener as that would just spread it out from the centre.
Do you simply double up the sound on 2 channels and pan each one hard left and hard right? Or is it something a bit more complicated or just a plug-in?
Any insights/ideas would be very much appreciated!
I'm always finding problems with clashing freqs and too much content cluttering my mixes so any techniques I can learn to improve the mix is very much needed.
