My first Disco(ish) track - It's A Party
Let us hear you!
Not sure about being a spammer but you seem to be a serial producer at the moment!
Thanks for the headsup, looks like decent odds too!
Good luck!

Hi, I really like the track too and think the kick sounds good. I am guessing at what you might want to do it, and would guess at more transient perhaps? Agree with manixdj that it seems quieter towards the end...
Not sure if you've tried any of Baphometrix Clip to Zero tutorials, and they are lengthy, but this one might offer something ?

Halftime DnB is sick! Ivy Lab and Richie Brains both produce soem excellent halftime - and now Nigel B too :D
Ha - thanks Sam, too kind!
Thanks Rob, just found out I won! Super chuffed about that. I’ll really enjoy the recording now! 🤣
I loved the vibe of your track and have tried searching that genre on Beatport without success! So respect for creating it 🤣

Thanks @manixdj although I think it already exists! Difficult to find reference material but there are some youtube videos describing half dnb tempo or snare on the third beat as examples....I went with that....
Found this too....
Thanks @Petter. I agree, it was a real eye opener.
Hi Sam, really like the vibe. For me the kick and bass are in the way of each other and overall it seems a bit central maybe?
You might of course want that to be the case but maybe have a look at the kick and bass and get the kick transient some space initially. I think the focus on the hat is not helped by the lack of other percussive elements - I'm sure you would have added these later but might be better to add some now and balance all of that around the main hat with some panning - then we'd all probably not hear it that much. But agree with the others that it seems a bit too present.
As it's house surely you need some keys!
Something I did on the 8 track assignment was sidechain key elements (vocal versus lead arp for example), ducking them out of the way at certain points. As long as you've tackled the basic eq requirements removing low / high end from tracks as required I mean. Also added dynamic eq boost over my key lead frequency, to acentuate the bit I liked the most....if that makes any sense!
Looking forward to see how this goes for you.
Just about made it in time. Went for a chilled DnB (half time) thing, although finding reference material was a bit tricky! Not sure I know what half time even is!
5 drum tracks - kick, snare, hat + two percs
Bass
Vocal
Lead loop with a million shaperbox automations! I should have invested in cableguys!

Hope you like it - good luck everyone.

Hey @simonshackleton I do have a question. Following on from the session and with your take on not needing to bother with the more traditional mixdown method of leaving lots of headroom in mind - I do routinely have a utility plugin right at the start of each device chain that I use to reduce the initial volume of the file or instrument. Is this also no longer necessary when adopting a 'clip to zero' on each track / bus approach?
Cheers
Thanks @simonshackleton another great session. You make it look so simple!
