What's up everyone, just starting a thread here to open up a conversation about my live stream tomorrow. I'm going to be talking about how I achieve a professional sounding mix down. If there are any questions you'd like to ask or things you'd like me to discuss in the stream tomorrow then let me know here!

Jafunk Member Livestream - Pro Mixing Techniques & QnA
Thanks a lot for the livestream in advance, so excited about it, and I may have a few questions-things I like to learn,
-Tips about arrangements , also is it possible that a poor or -incorrect- arrangement may lead a bad mix down? or vice versa?
-Does mixing with pink noise really work? Or is it a myth-or a cheat code that we should avoid in order to learn how to mix properly?
-What do you think about mixing with proper headphones?

I'm looking forward to the livestream tomorrow and will no doubt be interested by all of it but would appreciate a few tips on the following things: using reference tracks and spectrum analysers whilst mixing, plus any tips to help with ear training eg. recognising frequencies.

@Jafunk - Not sure if this is the right place for this question but having checked the very interesting pro mixdown course, impressed with the finished sound but wanted to know what sort of meter/LUFS levels you ended up with. Also...was that acheived without limiting?

Glad you found it interesting 👍 Normally during the mixdown stage I'm not too concerned with the overall meter level, but before I export the final mix I just make sure it's peaking around -8 dB so there's enough headroom for mastering. And yes in the course there was no limiting on the master channel.

Thank you very much, that was always one of my problems - over cooking the mixdown master level . I took a lot out of the course and look forward to the next episode.

Hi Jafunk,
I just wanted to reach out and thank you for your vocal course that I've just finished watching. There were plenty of tips that I'm hoping to implement in my next track I particularly liked the way you manually detuned the vocal doubles just a fraction in key places to 'thicken' the overall sound. The only part I'm not sure of moving forwards is how to get the vocals to balance nicely in the overall mix (with the rest of the instruments). Is this something you could possibly cover in a future video? Thanks again,
Tone
