Having Fun with a Lazy Whale

I've been dabbling since last fall. Last Thursday I decided just to make something fun without really trying to make anything specific. I liked it, so I refined it over the weekend and uploaded it to SoundCloud. This is the first thing I've shared publicly, and I know it's totally amateur, but I'd appreciate any pointers. Hopefully, some of the fun comes across in it.

Hey! Love this - incredibly unique approach, and totatally suits the vibe of the track name. It has a dreamlike quality, sort of weightlessness to it that i really like. Keep it up

Hey @noodin - I really like it; feels like a nice groove with lots of interesting features and like the way you bring in lots of different elements to keep interest.

I'm no expert, but feels like the pad washes over the low end quite allot and I think it comptes with the bass a bit.  Its a nice wash of sound though and the drums still punch though pretty well in my opinion.

It reminds me of a Christmas advert on tv..

Thanks @smillington, it's funny. My dad said the first thing it made him think of was Christmas music, too.

Great advice on the pads vs bass! I tried separating them more with EQ, and at first I couldn't really hear a big difference. But then I did an A/B test, and it smacked me in the face. What a vast improvement, thank you!
