Hot on the heels of Creatures' new set of tutorials, out later this week, we have an amazing new sub bass masterclass from Seppa. He's done a few livestreams on this topic (like his last one from a month or 2 back HERE) as well as his old bass mixing course from a few years ago HERE, but this one is fully up to date with all his latest techniques whilst using newer synths like Phaseplant and Vital.

We've got a new Brass-ignment for you - check the ACTIVITIES section for details... essentially though, it's making a track from the Latin Horns samples in the downloads section (use as many or as few samples as you want). Upload tracks to your profile page and then post on this thread...
PRIZE: PHASE PLANT SOFTSYNTH!
DEADLINE: 31st AUGUST 2023
If you have any other questions, post them here...
Yes! It's a quirky track so if the mixing is a bit quirky too it doesn't jump out. When you produce in certain dance music styles, there are more rules you have to follow, as you're being compared to lots of other tracks. Essentially, you're not as free to make choices, or it can be harder to break free from expectations at least, certainly on the mix side of things. Your choices for making the drums lower in the mix for instance and things like the vocal melody louder are your decisions to make. It's quite a shambolic mix and could be cleaner no doubt, but is packed full of character and originality so it doesn't really matter. This could easily be the theme to something!
I agree. Very original Tone! Unique vibe and atmosphere.
You'd be a great composer of TV themes I reckon.
Very nice! I'm a sucker for Breakbeats as you know! I like the vocal snippets in the drum break. Mix is really good too and the deep harmonies are hypnotic and engaging. Very Orbital-sounding at the end of the second drop with that lead coming in, which can't be a bad thing. I would play it out for sure
Rob will be announcing the next assignment, providing all the latest Producertech news, giving away some goodies, sharing production tips and tricks, and more!!
