I make the kind of music I want to listen to myself.  I like to use samples - radio and tv etc or alternatively using a Shure microphone fitted to my iPhone record my own field music, I then try and write original music to match the sample.  Most of my best compositions are fortunate mistakes, though I am learning without realising it.  Enjoy everything and most importantly do whatever you want to do both music wise and life generally!  Alan
