Hi, First post on here, trying something new with vocals based around a Basshouse synthwave 90's style with Trap lyrics.  Not sure if this works, feedback welcome.

Strong sound! I love the boldness. It's a simple but well put together track. There are a few tuning issues here and there, which need addressing... the higher pitched, sung vocals that come in around 1.30 are not in the same key as the rest of the track. A less obvious issue is the alternating between major and minor key - for the most of the song you're in a minor one but the main bass sound that comes in at various points has an obvious major third interval going on - this is a common issue with a lot of presets that use the 5th harmonic - these often get used in songs in a minor key!

The overall ideas you've got going on as well as the production quality, big sound etc. are all really good though, so there's huge potential!

Actually to be fair music theory is a tad difficult and still learning.  I thought I wrote in DMajor but you said its in minor!  I tuned a sample from Loop Cloud with its pitch algo to Dmajor, then imported it and wrote the bassline, simply underneath to the same base notes of the sample.   Not sure if its switching relative?  its doubtful and most likely my mistake.  But Im understamding now why Im like somethimgs wrong with it but couldnt put my finger on it.  Thanks.

I think what Rob is referring to is the unintended introduction of 3rd harmonics in certain bass patches, that can cause some issues (and it can be hard to hear, at least it is for me ... ).
If you haven't already watched it, it's explained here a bit:

Ah this makes sense now.  I created a layered bass and also used FM on chord stabs so this must have created the problem slightly.  Thanks Petter.  I was like checking notes on all my midi and anything Id bounced last nite, thinking, but this is in key apart from sections I deliberately changed to uplift via use of minor to major.   will have to watch harmonics.  very eye opening.
